The college recruiting process can be very overwhelming. When do you get started? What do you do to get started? What are the rules for different levels of play? When can I contact coaches? When can they contact me? The questions go on and on.
Athletes and parents everywhere are being misled to believe that by simply playing for the "right" travel ball team, you will get recruited and magically get an athletic softball scholarship. If only it were that simple. Far more work goes into the recruiting process if you want to find the right fit academically, athletically, and financially for you, your family and the institution you may end up competing for. This is going to be your college experience, it's up to YOU to make sure you find the RIGHT place.
I can help make this process easier for you and your family. I have been on both sides of the table having been recruited as a student athlete, and then working as a recruiter at both The University of Massachusetts Amherst and Iowa State University, therefore I offer a unique perspective on recruiting. I am here to help you in your quest to find the right institution for your academic and softball goals! I can help answer specific question about the following topics:
*How to take control of your college search
*What coaches look for in their athletes
*What to include in your athletic profile
*Why academics are such an important role in the recruiting game
*Information about the NCAA Clearinghouse
*Facts of life about college softball, scholarships, and financial aid
*What to include in your skills video
*How to correspond with college coaches after you've sent your initial packet
*How to make sure your athlete has the competitive edge
*much, much, more!!!

REALITY CHECK
“Of the over 1,100 colleges fielding fastpitch softball teams, only about HALF offer any form of
softball scholarships. This means that the majority of girls playing softball in college right now are not
receiving athletic-based aid.”
“Even at the ‘fully funded’ programs (meaning 12
full scholarships for Div. I) most players on the team will receive only partial scholarships and
some may have to make the team as walk-ons.”
“Without a doubt, every college-bound softball player would love to be offered a full athletic
scholarship. But competition for athletic aid is getting tougher each year. In case you are not fortunate enough to get a scholarship offer, be
prepared. Look at all of your financial aid options.”
