Tracey Roman
Founder and President of CNYFastpitch, Inc., knows what it takes to play at the next level. Having served as an Assistant Coach for three years at Iowa State University (1999-2002, Big 12 Conference), and one year at her alma mater, the University of Massachusetts (1998-1999, Atlantic 10 Conference), she has recruited athletes from across the country to play at the Division I level.
A four year letter winner and starter at the Univeristy of Massachuetts, Roman was a member of four Atlantic 10 Championship teams, two of which advanced to the 1997 and 1998 Division I Women's College World Series. She finished her career with a school record 103 stolen bases and .346 career batting average. She still holds every stolen base record at UMass including single game, single season, and career.
The 2B/Oufielder was a two time First Team Northeast All-American (1996, 1998), All-Atlantic 10 pick (1995, 1998), All Atlantic 10 tournament honoree (1997, 1998), All-New England (1995-1996), ECAC All-Star (1995, 1998). Roman was named to the 1997 and 1998 NCAA All-Regional teams after contributing key performances which led the Minutewomen to the NCAA Division I Women's College World Series.
The Mattydale, NY native prepped at Cicero-North Syracuse High School earning All-State honors her Junior and Senior seasons. Roman played two years for the STPTA Ponies out of Binghamton and four years for the Renegades out of Cicero.
Through her business CNYFastpitch, Inc, Roman is passionate about further developing the game of fastpitch softball in Central New York. She runs several annual tournaments, camps, and clinics. She has developed her own line of sliding shorts exclusively for the aggressive softball player. Roman currently works with several young athletes throughout upstat New York in their quest to get to the next level.
Tony Regitano
CNYFastpitch Inc., is pleased to welcome Tony Regitano to our family of instructors. Regitano made winning commonplace in his 14 years as the Head Softball Coach of the Onondaga Lady Braves, (1978-1992). During his career on the softball diamond, Regitano has established himself as one of Central New York's most successful collegiate softball coaches of all time. Compiling a career record of 476-132 overall and 402-57 in NJCAA competition, winning became a deeply seeded tradition that defined his program.
The list of Regitano's accomplishments is impressive; leading the Lady Braves to 5 NJCAA Nationals with 5 top ten finishes (#3 #5, #6, #8, #9), producing 21 NJCAA All-Americans (5 first team), and sending 20 players throughout his career to Division I schools on full scholarships including: Arizona (3), Virginia (2), Ohio State, University of Iowa, South Florida (2), Missouri, Southwest Missouri State, University of Massachusetts, South Carolina, Texas Tech, Nebraska, Georgia State, Temple, Manhattan, and Kansas.
In addition to his collegiate resume, Regitano served as the Head Softball Coach for the Central Empire State Games Team for 6 years medaling each of those 6 years (2 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze).
Regitano's continued effort in the game of softball includes working as a Pitching Consultant for Colgate University, and as a National Softball Clinician and Lecturer for Virginia High School Athletic Association, Westchester Clinics, and Nevada All-Sports Clinics. He will be the Lead Pitching and Catching Instructor. Instruction through him will be available in private sessions and classes.
Adam LaPaglia
Adam LaPaglia, Baseball Instructor and Speed/Agility Coach, knows the determination and the hard work it takes to play at the next level. As a Division I athlete, he has played with and against some of the top players in the country.
A three year starter at St. Bonaventure University, LaPaglia finished his career with a .300 batting average and a .984 fielding percentage at second base. During the 1998 season, LaPaglia was part of one of the longest winning streaks in all of Division 1 baseball, 11 games. After college, Adam was invited to try out for both the Montreal Expos and the Atlanta Braves.
A native of Central New York, Adam played scholastically at Cicero-North Syracuse. As the captain of the team, he earned All State honors his senior year and won the league batting title.
LaPaglia is a certified personal trainer with the National Council for Certified Personal Trainers (NCCPT), as well as an advanced trainer for the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association (NESTA), with a minor is strength and conditioning. LaPaglia specializes in sport specific training and has worked with several athletes in the Central New York area. Lapaglia’s role at CNYFastpitch will include both baseball and speed/agility instruction.
